Rattled

Dropping off the girls for the first full week of school! Summer vacation is officially over, which is strange for me as I was always the one to start after Labor Day, but with the uninterrupted time now during the days it does help to get more work done and find time to do nice things for myself which after this weekend is absolutely necessary!!

I am the one to always carry water with me everywhere I go, but for some reason in the hustle of last week getting my daughter ready for back to school, work, little sleep and with also getting ready for my best friend coming into Denver, I just for some reason pushed my well being aside. It came back to bite me in a very scary situation on Saturday with fainting spells from being overheated, dehydration, and some sort of anxiety attack that landed me in the ER. That has never happened to me before, it scared me so much that I will absolutely make sure to try to never let that happen again!!
I will get to what needs to be done, but not with sacrificing my well being. Thank you a million times over to my dearest Jen for taking care of me!

Has anything like this ever happened to any of you?

"Quit Pleasing Others"!

The most unhappy people I know in this world, are those who care the most about what other people think.

When we spend our time trying to please others, we lose time that could be spent living.

Time being present in the moment.

Time creating memories.

Time laughing.

Time loving.

When we fixate on other people’s opinions of us, we become their prisoners.

Don’t give people more power than they deserve.

And don’t forget your own power.

The power to find love and acceptance from within.

The power of internal validation.

It’s always available to you.

And it’s a strength that can never be taken away.

Hold onto it.

Cultivate it.

Take back your power.

Break free from the chains of outside opinions.

Live your life according to your standards.

Find what makes you happy, and do it.

No matter what anyone says.

Knots and Summer Goals

Fall is in the air for sure today, slight brr but I love the layering factor of a jacket as the day will begin to warm up, off it goes. And this cashmere vintage skirt is complete comfort. I have owed it since high school and actually feel like I am wearing a soft blanket all day.

After this labor day weekend I also start putting summer behind me and begin to concentrate on Fall goals, but that doesn't mean we cannot still enjoy what we loved about summer, like eating outside on warm nights, sitting in outdoor cafe's, taking long walks around the neighborhood, and my favorite pastime, soaking in the warm sun on the porch with my books and magazines. If the sun is warm enough I will be doing that year round. But even though there is so much to still do, I feel like summer flew by and I didn't get to do a ton that I had set my heart set on.
For instance, I really was hoping this was the summer to head back to Europe, (Wait I have been saying that each year) but in all honestly with schedules next spring will do, so I decided NYC this fall instead ;) I also wanted to write in my journal more and get back into my love of language learning (I hope to be fluent in French, Italian and Spanish) eventually! But there is always time and definitely no regrets.

But what about you, did you feel you reached your summer goals?

Balmain Gold

Oh my blog is not getting the usual attention that I would love to give for all of you, but rest assured I have a ton of fun stuff still waiting to be shared and also working on a project (deadline) with a few fabulous illustrators that has to be completed by the end of this month, so bare with me as I try to get back to normal posting schedule.. :) xo

** One more thing, I would like to send a special thank you to my dentist who informed me that I am grinding my teeth, I guess at night, as ever since she mentioned that, I am now noticing it and subconsciously doing it.... and cannot stop thinking about it. Yes now I am waking up with a tight jaw and sore teeth :( Never have I had that until mentioned... I swear lol...

In the meantime here are some of my favorites from Balmain AW/2010.. So love all the gold and the Prince influence?

Hello my wonderful friends, how are you?? I promise I have not forgot about you, I just had to step back and take a much needed break of sorts. I decided to take care of things that I have been putting off and I also started up a nice Yoga routine, (hello) why I have not really tried that beats me.. So amazing! I usually sneak in my workouts while brushing my teeth (seriously) and powering the sit-ups and all throughout the day (maybe), but like everything else I am trying to do to much at once and I think yoga is definitely teaching me to be in the moment more. Multitasking really is a road to wasted time.
So feeling refreshed and ready to dig back into a (one thing a time routine) lol I will catch up with you all this weekend and I promise to let you know if I disappear next time ;)

Happy Friday!!
