Art on Fabric

"Twilight Blue" Leigh 2008

I am so excited as I have just ordered fabric with my illustration above, I have yet to decide what to make with it but it will open more fun creative stuff for you all. When it arrives I will attach a photo of what the fabric looks like, so in the meantime I would love to pick your brains on some ideas :)

Fabulous. It depends how big the print is if you get me. I would kind of have to see it first. Gosh you could co clothes, bags, cushion covers, bedding, aprons, curtains. Its endless really. Congratulations, another avenue for your art.

Love it!! Perhaps you could order it in a size that would allow you to create huge wall panels, like a lot of Marimekko designs. I totally think this would be rad as a giant wall hanging.

Such a fun idea. But I would have to know what the fabric was like, how thick is it etc...
My first thought is that you should put your art on tee shirts as I see graphic tees popping up EVERYWHERE - Urban Outfitters would go crazy for these :)
And there's always a pillow, canvas bag, place mats etc.
Great idea Leigh - I'm sure what ever you create will be amazing!

ohh such yummy ideas! I kept thinking of pillows, totes and such as well but you guys are opening up the brain waves, thank you.

I will definitely get what the fabric looks like as soon as I receive it so it will be easier to picture.
I do know it will be printed on on 100% combed cotton from Moda fabrics. It is really soft.

pillows of course, tees would be great, or I can even see the back of a denim jacket. or even a comforter set. totes work very well.

keep it simple. maybe like a scarf, depending on the kind of fabric. a tank too? the possibilities are endless.

I love the idea of a make up bag. You could also cover a journal depending on the type of fabric/size etc. like the one i have a picture in on my blog :)
