The latest piece from my sketchbook which is a study of not thinking too much about the scale of what I am drawing, moving more quickly and letting the distortions make the piece what it is. A bit different, but I love to continue to challenge and discover where it may take me.

I am also working in slow mood today with the heat just shy of 100 degrees here in Denver. Reasons for late nights in the studio when it is actually tolerable. I honestly love a quiet house to myself with focus. It has been awhile after getting used to earlier mornings and earlier bedtimes, but I am slowly switching the schedule again while I can in the summer.

I will be back shortly with this weeks #musicmonday in just a bit..

A few from the sketchbook, the lamb inspired by Agnona's ad because I couldn't resist and my love for sketching urban spaces and places, this one in Brugge Belgium via.

Right now I am putting the final touches around my home for Thanksgiving, which last minute consists of reupholstering the cushions on my dining room chairs, seriously in my mind it seemed much easier then it is turning out to be. It will also be the first year in a few that I will be cooking the big meal, but thankfully it will be split up with others on my block, we are doing a 3 home gathering which is easing my mind making the Thanksgiving meal less stressful.

Page 38 a forward by Emmanuelle Alt speaking of Punk and the showing at the Met which I hope to see mysepf while in NYC in a few weeks.
I cannot wait but glad I have a little time still before I leave, as at this very moment this weekend dealing with a sciatic nerve issue in my lower back. I have had it on and off, here and there since my 20's, sucks.. But no matter, I am going to deal and have fun regardless, what can you do.



Hope your all having a wonderful weekend though. I will be finding inspiration the rest of the day in watching Alfred Hitchcock's Blackmail (1929). The still below is what has me curious in seeing what it is all about.

Paris Vogue Journal 001

After receiving the May issue of Paris Vogue in the mail and just so happened I stocked up on a few new art journals the same day, I was immediately inspired to use one of the sketchbooks to journal the entire issue, minus the ads... (maybe, going to go with the flow with this one). I am also learning french, for what seems forever and ever and should be fluent at this point if not for the fact I continue to put it on the back burner, but this journal will be a great way to translate the language along with my sketches and a fun way to dive back in.

Speaking of journals, I have also picked back up a daily journal for my thoughts along with making a collage type inspiration journal (below), like what I used to do when I was little. It is such a great way for me to just throw anything and everything together that is running through my mind and inspiring me at the moment. Mini mood boards and various thoughts and notes, I will try to share more of those as well.
