Proneness Version 2

 photo PronenessVersion2FSM_zpsyj5brhg7.jpg

Here's the 2nd version of Proneness, with the 1st one being more my illustrative style, this one I wanted to just let loose, use a ton of color and be completely messy.
I hope everyone enjoyed Mother's Day yesterday! I had such a wonderful day, not doing much and being spoiled with some new planted flowers that I hope to make last all summer.

Until soon xo

"Collide"

Spending this long weekend for the most part working between a few commissions and some older work that I wanted to finish, like this one. Otherwise it has been quiet and ultra relaxing. It consisted of many naps, which I am not one to sit still let alone take a nap very often, but they were obviously needed. Also watched The Grand Budapest Hotel, which I now own due to keeping it far too long from redbox! oops.. (Good thing I liked the film), also reading endlessly and catching up on my summer stack of magazines, (I am starting to think I have a problem with those things) ;)

I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend as well and hello September!

18x24 Watercolor on Canvas

Future Unlimited - Golden

It is almost time!! I am on my last week of work for my Exhibition in London for Draperhouse.
This one will be there in a different form,(not ready for the reveal of the final original) but this will be there as is mounted on stretched canvas as well. I want to have a mix of work available in my many forms that I create, so I will be including original oils, acrylics, watercolor illustrations and mounted illustrations as well. So happy that it is all coming together. Hope you like and I hope you all had a fantastic weekend too xo

"Sunset Fog"

@ Leigh Viner 2011

Etsy

Catching a cold is never fun, but have to admit, I am not the one that feels better sitting still either trying to cure the darn bug.. I have said it a million times, I am antsy and to get me to just sit still is a difficult task. Proud Gemini here!

I can sit do not get me wrong here just (not) still. I will have a book/magazine in hand, movies and the ipad out, taking notes, learning french, sketching, checking my e-mail. You get the picture, oh and usually all at the same time.. (lifelong multitasked individual) but on that note, the one such thing to put me in a meditative mood and away from that multitasking of my brain and the fact that I do not feel well always is drawing.

I came across the photography of Marc Yankus last night and immediately felt inspired to create from one of his blurry textured photos. They are memorizing, soft and with the blur pull a long focus of the eye to continue to look deeper in the photograph to find its shape.
Hope you enjoy them as much as I do and I am sure this will not be the only time I create a piece from Marc.

What are some of your ways of feeling better when under the weather?

"Mayya" 2

Etsy
Hello Everyone, I decided to use my inspiration from this post (4th photo down) and illustrate Mayya once again. She has such wonderful features and I really loved her stare in the photo so of course felt inspired. I also wanted to share this photo of my daughter below while we were out and about vintage shopping. She just turned 8 and is starting to raid my closet to wear all of my shoes, adore..

Hope your all having a wonderful week, I am off now to watch a little Netflix.. (taking advantage as I hear they are going to start charging extra for instant play ) Lame...

PS* The Original will be up soon in my shop, if you have any questions or are interested just send me a note.

PSS**Did you know that Danny Robert's released an EP on iTunes, I bought it last night while I created this piece actually and especially fell in love with the song "The Dream Walker". Check out the rest of the album, which is so him and so wonderful here

"Chez L'ami Louis"

© Leigh Viner 2011

Elisabeth Anais - Paris je t'aime

Another city landscape to the collection, this one of the Chez L'ami Louis in Paris. I am really loving the process of creating this type of art, and it brings a bit of variety to the fashion illustrations. Hope you like it and hope your staying a bit cooler than I, it has been scorching, melting, blood boiling (okay maybe not that hot) hot here in Denver the past few days. All about the hair up and flip flops at this point.

"Swoon"

The Chemical Brothers - Swoon

This is one of my latest limited edition pieces that will be sold as a print exclusively through Pic*Boutique So happy how it turned out, it has been awhile since I did a larger painting. The good news it has also been awhile since I have also listed a new original painting in my Etsy shop, which she will be going in a few days. The painting is similar to the print but definitely different so cannot wait to share.

Also I want to thank Lonny magazine for including one of my vintage prints, Lollia in their Oct/Nov Anniversary issue that is out now. Grab a cup of coffee and check out the entire online issue here, it is stocked full of inspiration in decor, along with their wonderful holiday gift guide (Holidays yes will be here in a blink) starting on page 23. J'adore! xo
