Lillie Magazine

Photobucket

A snowy, freezing cold football weekend ahead (btw I am not really the football fanatic but my Denver Broncos are having an amazing season and it is down the wire with the playoffs, so an excuse to have fun and actually watch the game instead of listening to the guys scream and cheer from the other room). Is that what they call a bandwagon fan? Well then, yes that is me ;) By the way from yesterday, I thankfully am feeling much better. whew.. and knock on wood.

I also have a new magazine, Lillie to browse and fall in love with for the weekend, this is just the teaser issue, the first full issue is set to be released around the corner this Spring. Here is a wonderful video as well below which I hope you will find just as inspiring. The magazine is brought to you by the Editor-in-Chief, Letitia Elizabeth who I also consider a friend and equally inspiring. She has been a great supporter of my art over the years and am grateful to know such a driving force. Enjoy and hope you all have a wonderful weekend ahead xo

"Lillie Magazine is a new quarterly magazine that aims to influence the conversations and style choices of conscious modern women by celebrating the charm, authenticity and beauty of a meaningful life and ignite a desire for stylish green living. David Bornscheuer's Paris Flat

This captures a little more of my dream of finding the perfect flat overseas. I love all of the light, white and just enough space for what is functional.

Halloween at Home

Martha Stewart Bat Mobile, directions here

Last but not least, these were so fun to make, Graveyard Ghosts from Martha Stewart found here

I have been going crazy this year with the decor for Halloween. I usually put up a candle and a few pumpkins, but with my daughter turning 8 this year I have decided to go a little bit further. I have to thank Martha Stewart for the inspiration and going for more DIY ideas then spending money. I could share more but I think you get the idea. Now a last minute costume idea?? Still have no clue what to wear/be. But I will share next week as well of course.

Have a wonderful safe Halloween everyone xo

AfroChic: Fall Collection

I have been excited for awhile to see what the wonderful Jeanine Hays, founder of AfroChic has had up her sleeves for the new Fall collection. The wait is over as of today it has been launched.

She has included new textiles from wallpaper to new pillows, table linens and organic shower curtains. This season I was excited to see Brooklyn based artist Samantha Hahn and her work on a few of the pieces, especially the pillows (want). I had a group exhibition along with her, Dallas Shaw and Christina Entcheva last summer at Charles Nolan in NYC.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Jeanine Hays while showing my work in San Francisco. J'adore all you talented ladies!

Head over to see for yourself some more of the new collection here. I have a few favorites definitely on my wish list.

And last but not least a BIG thank you to Jeanine for including 2 of my illustrations in the new Fall catalog xo

Behind a photo..

I love everything about this photo, the saturation the clothes the shoes the studio, but what inspired me the most was the wall in the back.. I would love to use that technique on a wall at home, a watercolor feel splash of grey's... Gorgeous!.

Weekend Project

A cheap easy weekend project. Even better I love how the chalkboard paint was just slapped on in the second photo, done! Now the fun part, which wall?
