"Tulle"

18x24 Oil, Acrylic on Canvas

Jóhann Jóhannsson - Flugeldar

This was a fun piece and a bit different as I painted mostly with a palette knife, so thicker then my usual work, but for this exhibition in London, I really want to also challenge myself a bit and step out of my comfort zone.
She was based on this fabulous editorial, featuring Megan Collision. And now off to finish 5 and 6, clock is ticking.. :D

Hope your all having a fabulous weekend xo

18x24 Oil on Canvas

The 3rd is finished for London. She might have a bit of influence from The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo unconciously as I have been immersed in that book all week while simultaneously creating this piece, but happy how it turned out regardless. And happy as well that I finally decided to pick up that book, it was staring at me for far to long.

"Beauteous Refined"

18x24 oil on canvas

I have the 2nd oil painting to finally share with you which is for my client and exhibition in London, I had to go through some touch ups and yes with oils it is a patient process. ( a good lesson for a slightly impatient person as myself). This one was based on a beauty shot from the talented Jan Welters. I am going through some of my favorite photographers for this entire series, so honestly I am more then anxious and excited to get going on the third.

Also with the cat and mouse game of trying to get caught up on this oh so amazing busy month that is December, . I am still not done with shopping for Christmas, but today woke up to at least 10 inches of snow here in Denver, the car is staying put and a hot long bath instead.. of course..

Hope you are all having a wonderful week...

Paolo Roversi series 1

© Leigh Viner 2011

18x24" Oil on Canvas

She is done! The first of my Paolo Roversi series.
I was reminded of my paitence again by pulling out the oils, cannot believe how long it has been since I have created in that media, and I promised myself not to let that happen again. I really enjoy that medium, almost meditative for me. She is also the 1st of some exclusive work that I will be doing for someone (will share soon) and she is coming with me to London for an exhibition in March!! Omg so excited!! I will keep you all informed as I know more.

I hope you all had a wonderful week, weekend and Thanksgiving here is the States.. I can tell you one thing, I am so very thankful for all of you xo

"Fashion Unraveled" Exhibition

My latest show, "The Fashion Unraveled" exhibition is part of Gensler San Francisco’s 2011 Spring Art Programme. The show examines contemporary fashion beyond the final product of thread and cloth. Exploring fashion as an artistic process & practice, from mind to hand to manifestation. Fashion photography and garments will share the stage with artist works and a live charette will present a tangible view of design at the exhibition reception.
Gensler is proud to present and support artists and designers working across mediums and proving a full range of content and presentation. The Gensler San Francisco office invites you to see into the hearts and minds of these artists recognizing that the design they utilize can be as fluid as the garments they create."

I am beyond excited to be a part of this!! I really hope to see you there if you can come xo

Pic*Boutique / Jean Yu/ Happy Weekend

Happy happy weekend everyone. I had my fun night out last night, (sushi, wine) omg how did I live without that food for so long, so I will be cozying up and staying in work mode for the next few days and including a few posts starting with today I want to share my exclusive limited editions pieces that I have been talking about and are now available for purchase at Pic*Boutique. I will be sending some Originals as well as a few more prints in the near future so keep your eyes peeled. I am just incredibly honored to be a part of their Gallery.

I also wanted to share these gorgeous lingerie separates and dresses from Jean Yu Her attention to detail and the use of straps integrated to give a tough edge to something so delicate is amazing. She also recently collaborated with Proenza Schouler and Rag & Bone at NY Fashion Week Spring 2011 which you can see here here and here via Style.com
