Rattled

Dropping off the girls for the first full week of school! Summer vacation is officially over, which is strange for me as I was always the one to start after Labor Day, but with the uninterrupted time now during the days it does help to get more work done and find time to do nice things for myself which after this weekend is absolutely necessary!!

I am the one to always carry water with me everywhere I go, but for some reason in the hustle of last week getting my daughter ready for back to school, work, little sleep and with also getting ready for my best friend coming into Denver, I just for some reason pushed my well being aside. It came back to bite me in a very scary situation on Saturday with fainting spells from being overheated, dehydration, and some sort of anxiety attack that landed me in the ER. That has never happened to me before, it scared me so much that I will absolutely make sure to try to never let that happen again!!
I will get to what needs to be done, but not with sacrificing my well being. Thank you a million times over to my dearest Jen for taking care of me!

Has anything like this ever happened to any of you?

Just back and catching up this week from a wonderful and overdue trip to New York City. I really do miss the city, the never ending cycle of movement that I love to blend into, watch and explore. It was Jim's first trip to NYC so I had to walk us everywhere of course and turn our legs into to jelly in the process.

As much as I love it there though it is also good to be home and especially reunited with my adorable Braelynn. We went exploring ourselves today close to home finding serene streets to take some photos and I found the house above that was distinctly built with Italy in mind down to a row of cypress trees on a large lot and it also happens to be for sale, (not that it is even in my budget) but yes a girl can dream.

I will post photos soon here from the trip, but in the meantime you can follow my Instagram as I post a ton of my travel photos there each week.

I am feeling a sense of relief as finally this weekend we dragged the dying Christmas tree outside and off to recycling leaving the Holiday season now in the past and the new year ahead. I quickly cleaned the millions,... I mean trillions of pine needles off of the floor and replaced with spring flowers around my home in hopes that I can at least pretend it was Spring already. I just have to admit to my OCD that when my home is in order I can then function properly.

On that note, I have been creating like mad and am almost finished with a larger painting, that can you believe is the first in many, many months besides some illustrations due to a blessed booked schedule this past year with my wonderful clients. I cannot wait to share it all.

If you want to see the process and a few more updates make sure to catch me over at my Instagram @leighviner

Happy Week xo

Ok that was difficult being away, I have missed posting on my blog, but the time has come for some much needed change around my home. I was organizing and redecorating a few rooms this past few weeks, (living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom and still in the process, (It never ends does it? ) Also life in general was starting to become a bit chaotic and busy, but in such a good way, but still overwhelming. I needed to step back from a few things, reflect and find a better system to continue my love for all the things that I do love to do, that as well is a process and never really ends.. "Change is the only constant" I have to remind myself of that continually. But I am ready , refreshed and with all this talk about change, naturally it will reflect here as well in the coming months. But for now lets just be in the moment, and today the moment is Flare.. Last few years I have been more in the habit of wearing my beloved skinny's, as much as I love and adore and will still obsessively wear, my wide and flare jeans were being ignored a bit. Time with fall to mix it up as I have here today. I collect jeans as I do shoes actually, glad to have as many options as possible I guess ;) Here are some more of my favorite's this year from left, Photobucket J Brand Love Story Jeans. MiH Jeans. Citizens of Humanity Hutton mid rise Flare Jeans.
