Guest Post - by Jessica Diaz

autumn, je'taime.

hello there! my name is Q - and i make jewelry and such over at POSTCARDS+LOVE ; my gorgeous and amazingly talented friend Leigh was kind enough to invite me to post a little something on her fabulous blog, so i thought i'd do an ode to all things fall. autumn always reminds me of comfort, femininity, beauty, rich colors, and romance. i also associate fall with productivity, creativity, and inspiration - since it is when i get the itch to create the most. here are a few things i'm currently embracing:

pink bow ballet flat /urban outfitters,
vintage jewelry box
squirrel watercolor
jo demontis dress
kate Spade necklace & earrings
gold mirror / frame
j.crew cashmere sweater
forget me knot ring
j.crew handbag
topshop aviator sunglasses

Guest Post -by Jessie Cacciola

Sake

Tequila

Rose

Hello, Create readers, and thanks to Leigh for the invite on this guest post. As a food writer and art lover, I love when these two things collide. I'm not talking about old-fashioned still life oil paintings with those bowls of fruit and dangling grapes. I mean when food actually becomes art -- like when dressings swoop and dot around a dish or a chef gets really creative with trompe l'oeil, French for "decieve the eye," where art or food isn't what it seems: a slice of watermelon made out of cherry sorbet and chocolate "seed" chips. Or think about sugar twisted and stretched and set like a sculpture. Or when a dish looks so damn good you just don't want to disturb it. Then, there's food art that never sees a plate -- there's usually a good story behind this.

Like these pictures above of booze under a microscope I found via a friend's site The Good Feed, which she found on Time.com. According to Time.com, Florida research scientist Michael Davidson made the images by "crystallizing the drink on a lab slide, then passing a polarized light through the crystal" and magnifying it over 1,000 times.

Not only are these images actually aesthetically pleasing, they kind of resemble the character of the drinks, no? Like they could be made under the influence (er, inspiration?) of each. The first is sake, then tequila, and last, rosé. Makes sense. Click over here for more -- over 50! -- which can now be purchased as prints or on coasters through businessman and fellow researcher Lester Hutt on BevShots. The clever tagline? "Art distilled." I'm a fan.

Jessie Cacciola is a freelance food writer in New York obsessed with culture and politics -- but a good piece of art still makes her knees weak. If you're into these sorts of things, you can follow her @jessie_cacciola.

Phonique - For the time being (Alexkid's Cold Mix)

Hello everyone, how is your weekend going? It seems like forever that I have been on here, yikes. I promise it is a temporary thing.. When it rains it pours, but it is such a good thing, I have been busy working on a few wonderful projects that will be due just days away. Will share soon!

Which brings me to some amazing bloggers that I consider to also be good friends that will be helping me out this upcoming week; Elizabeth Marie from Its Unbeweavable, Jessie Cacciola from Zest and Thyme, Jessica Diaz from Postcards and Love Agnes from Some Kind of Style - (It is her Birthday this upcoming Friday !) and last but not least Monica Schulman of Ciao Chessa. They will be guest blogging as I crunch my time.. I am honored to have each of them here so make sure to give them some love.

See you tomorrow for #Music Monday xo

I hope you all had a great weekend! Football is here, but honestly I think I have only watched 5 min in total this past few weeks, I will let my dear friends keep me informed of the seasons happenings ;) I am actually excited to start watching Martin Scorsese's new HBO show, Boardwalk Empire. I caught a few minutes of it last night and am sucked in already. Did any of you watch it?

Change is in the air

As Fashion week comes to a close and even though I could not attend this year, I can definitely say one thing, I think 80% of those I follow on Twitter were there it seems. So great to keep up with all of the shows, parties and backstage fun while I sit from home in Denver. Amazing how social media has given us all that opportunity, crazy. I also have been painting again, stepping aside from the illustrations for a few pieces, cannot wait to share.

So in the meantime while I wrap my head around such great inspiration from this last week I thought I would share one of my favorite photos that Scott Schuman shot from the Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 show. Such a great artistic view from the runway.

Echo and The Bunnymen -Lips Like Sugar

Hello lovelies, hope you are all having a great week!,

Here is another piece that I did exclusively for Pic*Boutique. I am a few weeks out from finishing all that I am doing for them. Cannot wait until it all comes together.

It was inspired from one of Julia Galdo's amazing photographs and then dressed in a top that I love from Burberry Prorsum's F2010 RTW. The entire collection just grabs me with the mix of lace, military, leather and shearling really..

I am heading out on my usual Thursday night out, a saviour for me.. Sushi and wine it is. Talk to you all soon xo

Lace me up

With fall around the corner and Labor day the official end of Summer season for me, I decided to start pulling out bits and pieces of the fall staples now, like theses Lace up booties from Aldo, I am still deciding on the boot boot that I want this season as there are so many amazing styles that I want. I should figure out fast though, as you know with the rush of seasons they will be sold out before I can decide.

I hope you are all enjoying the long weekend here in the States. I will be back here tomorrow for #Music Monday
