Ran out of light today so headeded indoors for a quick outfit post. Aiming for comfort in the cold. I also added this vintage broche as this is the shirt that just loves to expose the boobs unwantingly.

I hope you are all having a great weekend. I am getting ready for a busy week ahead with Thanksgiving here in the States. Thinking of another non traditional meal. (Last year made a quiche and chocolate crepes) I had cooked the traditional meal for 5 years straight and honestly it wore me out, sorry my guests) ;)

AfroChic: Fall Collection

I have been excited for awhile to see what the wonderful Jeanine Hays, founder of AfroChic has had up her sleeves for the new Fall collection. The wait is over as of today it has been launched.






She has included new textiles from wallpaper to new pillows, table linens and organic shower curtains. This season I was excited to see Brooklyn based artist Samantha Hahn and her work on a few of the pieces, especially the pillows (want). I had a group exhibition along with her, Dallas Shaw and Christina Entcheva last summer at Charles Nolan in NYC.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Jeanine Hays while showing my work in San Francisco. J'adore all you talented ladies!

It really is cold, thy indian summer has officially moved out, but that is okay as I get to bring out what I call my Airport sweater, my favorite to travel with, doubles as a blanket, scarf, pillow while on the plane, and if it didn't have arms I am sure it would act as a soft round rug. ;)

I hope you all had a great weekend The short days are now upon us and even though it is quite early still I am going to most likely crash earlier than normal (honestly need it ).. We shall see, probably will not happen though. ;)

Designer Daniella Hod and her collection "inspired by the different layers of consciousness, the process of sleep or the lack of it"

"Insomnia is the story of my life, I never sleep and forever I dream"

I can relate on a thousand levels. I am my most creative at night when I should be sleeping. I tend to naturally procrastinate any of my creations until the quiet dark hours. May it be less of the distractions of the day that opens my mind or as Daniella mentions the lack of sleep that inspires. Regardless I am drawn to her soft dreamlike display of her collection and how she portrays fashion with art as one.
